Stacey King
| Stacey King est une jeune femme métissée aux origines africaines, en particulier le Gabon. C’est en Belgique qu’elle naquit puis grandit en France et aux Etats-Unis. Stacey King est une authentique autodidacte dont les compétences en chant sont tout simplement étonnantes ! Sa voix, à la fois magique et sensuelle ; transporte un rare sens de l’émotion que l’on ne rencontre que chez les plus grands chanteurs. En 1999, son talent vocal est remarqué par Roger Sanchez, le fameux DJ des States. Celui-ci décide alors de lui faire enregistrer un single « Just Leave Me » avec le groupe « Box Office ». Autant à l’aise en studio que sur scène, Stacey a participé à de nombreux shows TV, enregistrant entre autres une émission à Londres «Special Ibiza » pour MTV où elle a rencontré de nombreux artistes fameux comme Craig David, Sonique, Kylie Minogue, Boy George… Mis à part la télévision, Stacey s’est produite sur scène un peu partout dans le monde. Ses tournées l’ont en particulier amenée à faire un concert remarqué au Sultanat d’Oman, à se produire pour Louis Vuitton, à animer la fête d’anniversaire de Mick Jagger, à lancer le Trimaran du Club Med, à chanter au Renaissance Jazz Bar pendant le Jazz Festival de Montreux… Après avoir démarré sa carrière en « House » et «Lounge » music, elle a maintenant décidé de la poursuivre avec un album plus World & Soul : « Femme d’Afrique » Des mélodies issues des régions traditionnelles d’Afrique aux sonorités Rhythm & Blues, Stacey King va vous éblouir et vous transporter dans son monde. ******************************
Stacey King is a young mixed of African origins who was born in Belgium at Etterbeek, and whose parents are diplomats. Stacey is an authentic self-made woman whose proficiency in singing is simply astonishing, when one considers she’s never attended singing lessons. Her voice both magical and sensual, carries a rare sense of emotion that one encounters only with the greatest singers. In 1999, her voice talent is noticed by Roger Sanchez, who decides to make her record a single “Just Leave Me” with the band Box Office. Equally at ease in studio and on stage, Stacey participated in several TV shows, recording for a Baleares documentary in London, as well as for a special broadcast “special Ibiza” for MTV where she met several famous artists like Craig David, Sonique, Kylie Minogue, Boy George… She also participated to the Nu Music Programm show (Channel Four) where she was selected among numerous candidates by Joe Strummer (The Clash) himself, who said about her “There is really something in her voice that turns me on”. As a result of this, she stayed for about six weeks in the show. Aside from TV, Stacey did a lot of live-stage performances, touring all over the world: Concerts in Sultanat of Oman, in Tokyo for Louis Vuitton, private show for Mick Jagger’s birthday party, launching of the Club Med’s trimaran… It’s during a tour in the Casino de Trouville (France) that Stacey met Jean-Christophe Vincens from Jive Squad Productions. Truly charmed by her velvet voice, Jean-Christophe decided to produce a record of well-known Jazz standarts and songs remixed in an up-to-date Lounge and Deep House spirit.
